About the artist
Ronnie’s journey into tattooing didn’t start with a classroom or clean studio walls. It started in high school, with stick-and-poke tattoos and a relentless drive to turn creativity into something lasting. He got his first professional tattoo at just 15, and by 19, he was on his own path as a working artist. His apprenticeship at Uncle Bob’s Artistic Design in Houston, Texas was cut short when a hurricane wiped out the studio, but that didn’t stop him. Instead, it pushed him harder, and he’s been tattooing professionally since 2000, evolving his style and sharpening his technique through more than two decades in the game.
Today, Ronnie tattoos out of Club Tattoo inside The LINQ Hotel + Experience in Las Vegas, a studio that matches his pace, his passion, and his standard for excellence. Known for his versatility, Ronnie specializes in realism, both black and grey and color, as well as high-impact coverups that turn old regrets into bold, beautiful statements. He believes a true artist can take something broken and transform it, and that mindset has made him a go-to for clients looking to reclaim their skin and their stories.
His work is inspired by everything from comic books to family influences, and his long list of artistic heroes includes Guy Aitchison, James Kern, Paul Booth, Deano Cook, Nikko Hurtado, and Roman Abrego. Some of his biggest breakthroughs have come from simply working alongside other talented artists in studios over the years, absorbing knowledge, refining histechnique, and always pushing his work to the next level. For Ronnie, every tattoo is a collaboration. Every session is an opportunity to create something that matters to someone.
Of all the pieces he’s proud of, one stands out: a realism-meets-neon thigh piece on his wife that’s evolving into a full leg sleeve. It features a life-sized portrait of their dog, Cookie, and captures everything Ronnie loves about tattooing—technical skill, personal meaning, and the freedom to create without limits.
Outside the studio, Ronnie’s still fueled by curiosity and craft. He’s into dog training, gold prospecting, Muay Thai, firearms, and jewelry design, the latter of which led to the launch of a custom jewelry company he runs with his wife. Every piece they create is made to order, blending art, precision, and personal flair, just like his tattoos.
As for trends, Ronnie’s not shy about where he stands. Micro tattoos? Not built to last. Upside-down tattoos? Not his thing. “When I wear a cross necklace, I don’t hang the cross upside down so I can see it right side up,” he says. “Same goes for tattoos. They’re made to be seen the way they’re meant to be seen.
”Grounded, experienced, and deeply connected to his craft, Ronnie is the kind of artist who brings both grit and intention to every tattoo. He’s the kind of artist who turns ink into something unforgettable.
