Pre-care Information
No alcohol at least 24 hours before your appointment.
No caffeine the morning of your appointment.
Stop the use of blood thinning medication at least 1 day prior (like Aspirin, Advil, Vit E, Turmeric and Fish Oil).
Refrain from using skin care actives around the area at least 2 weeks prior, such as retinol, vitamin c, glycolic acid, AHAs/BHAs, brightening products and anti acne products.
Limit sun exposure and tanning services in the days leading up to your appointment. If your skin is sunburnt, you can not get tattooed.
Do not get any chemical peels, microneedling, exfoliations, etc… at least 4 weeks prior to your appointment.
If you have been previously tattooed elsewhere, you must be pre-approved before booking an appointment.
Feel free to come in with your brows grown out- I’m happy to clean and shape them, unless you would like to achieve results similar to how you normally get them done. Also, you may come in wearing your everyday makeup so I can get an idea of what you’re used to.
Otherwise, bring inspo photos of my work and/or images you would like me to use as reference.
- No botox at least 2 weeks prior to your appointment
- No waxing at least 1 week prior to your appointment
- No tinting at least 3 days prior to your appointment
- No botox or fillers at least 4 weeks before/ after your appointment.
- If you have had a history of cold sores and/or fever blisters EVER, you must take anti-viral medication (such as Valtrex) every day beginning 1 week before your appointment, the day of, and continue to use 1 week after.
Lip blushing can activate HSV-1, the virus that causes cold sores, and cause an outbreak. Lysine, an amino acid supplement available over the counter, has been shown to help prevent outbreak and may be taken in the days leading up to your appointment.
- If your lips are prone to drying/cracking, please hydrate in the days leading up to your appointment with an ointment, balm or mask such as Aquaphor. Dry, cracked lips are difficult to work with and will often result in a poor heal.
- Discontinue use of any lash or growth serum 8 weeks prior.
- No lash lifts/tints at least 2 weeks prior and 2 weeks after.
- Remove any lash extension before your appointment and do not re-apply until 2 weeks after your touch up.
- If you an active eye infection such as a stye, blepharitis, conjunctivitis or others, you can not get tattooed until the area has been treated and cleared by your doctor.
- If you have glaucoma or ocular hypertension, you will need a note from your doctor
Aftercare Information
Immediately After:
For the first 3 hours blot your brows with a clean tissue/ paper towel (do this every 15-20min). 1 hour after your appointment, wipe your brow area with the sterile wipe included in your aftercare kit (a little pigment will come off- totally normal).
Clients with dry/ normal skin:
Wash your brows gently with the cleanser provided, rinse with cool water, pat dry, apply a rice size of healing balm (split between the two brows).Repeat the cleansing process morning and night for 10 days and reapply balm whenever you feel like your brows are dry/ itchy/ tight.
Clients with oily/ combination skin:
Wash your brows gently with the cleanser provided, rinse with cool water, pat dry. Repeat the cleansing process morning and night for 10 days and apply the healing balm whenever you feel like your brows are dry/ itchy/ tight. It is also recommended to blot your brows several times a day to remove any excess oils from them (hello, T-zone!).
For everyone:
Do not apply any brow make up and be mindful of skin care product application in the surrounding area (anti aging products are a definite no!).
Avoid water at all costs, this includes sweat from exercise and when you shower.
What to expect:
Color will appear dark and may seem red - this is normal and temporary. Shape can appear uneven as the scabbing may pull and/or distort the skin in the surrounding area.
Brows may become itchy and flaky, although it may be tempting, do not pick! Prematurely removing scabs may pull pigment away - Allow your skin to heal on its own terms.
Melanin rich clients may experience temporary hypo-pigmentation after peeling. Although uncommon, it is a normal response to trauma. As your skin continues to heal, the color will “bloom” and become more visible.
Afterwards:
Each person’s body heals differently. Your fresh tattoo may appear light at first. As your skin continues the healing process, the color will bloom and become more visible. The true color of your new tattoo will be best viewed around the 6 week mark. It is important to remember that this is a two step process. Any areas that need to be adjusted will be addressed at the touch up, patience is key!
In some cases, additional sessions are necessary to achieve the desired results.
Long term:
Your tattoo is an investment and will require continued care. Anti-aging products, exfoliation treatments and sun/UV exposure will lighten your tattoo. It is important to wear sun screen and to tell your skin care professional to stay clear of the tattooed area. Additionally, clients with oily skin, iron deficiency or h other skin issues, may see fading more quickly. Refresh appointments are necessary to maintain color and detail.
Immediately After:
With clean, dry hands, wipe lips once every 1/2 hour with wet cotton rounds to remove any fluids that may leak from your fresh tattoo. Do this until you go to bed. Lips may appear swollen and feel tender - this is temporary and can last up to 48 hours.
Avoid spicy food, alcoholic beverages, hot and colored liquids for the first 24 hours.
Days 2-7:
Apply the healing balm included in your aftercare kit. Use sparingly - keep them hydrated but not too wet. Always use a fresh applicator brush or clean hands when touching your lips.
During this time, your lips may feel slightly textured and appear dark in color.
Do not pick or bite any scabs.
Avoid excessive amounts of water, including sweat from exercise and water from the shower.
Do not apply makeup or skin care products directly on or around the area.

Eyes may appear red and swollen and may last 1-2 days (For most, it will appear as though you have cried) A cold pack may be applied for up to 10 mins to ease any discomfort.
Days 2-10:
Keep the area dry and be careful to avoid any excessive amounts of water, including sweat from exercise.
Do not apply any eye makeup, cleansers, lotions/creams or any ointments for the duration of this period.
You may see some scabbing, flaking and peeling. This can appear like mascara flakes or stuck on eyelash glue. Do not pick or scratch. Picking can attribute to loss of color and definition.

If you have any of the following conditions, you may not be eligble or need to consult with your doctor:
Under the age of 18 years old
Pregnant/Breastfeeding
Used Accutane (or other acne medication that is not topical) within the last year
Allergies to Lidocaine/ Benzocaine
Undergoing Chemotherapy
Have an Autoimmune disorder or difficulty healing
Diabetes
Any heart condition
