About the Artist
Brian Halitzka didn’t set out to become a tattoo artist. He was on track to become a firefighter, deep into EMT courses when a chance conversation changed everything. Watching a tattooer setting up one day, he started talking shop about sterile procedures. That moment sparked more than just a conversation. It led to an apprenticeship in Chandler, Arizona, and launched a career that has now spanned over 25 years.
Currently tattooing at Club Tattoo in Mesa, Brian brings an unwavering love for the true and timeless styles. His work is rooted in the bold lines and deep symbolism of Japanese and American traditional, with a splash of realism inspired detail. Whether it is a dragon sleeve, a black and gray flash piece, or a classic devil head, he is here for anything that can stand the test of time.
His process is ADHD doom piles, as he puts it. It is chaotic, inspired, and completely his own. He thrives on gaining knowledge and applying it to every tattoo, every day. For Brian, it is less about trends and more about tradition. He believes in sticking with what is timeless, styles that never fade, designs that hold their ground.
Brian’s influences include tattoo artists Taylor Ryan and Mando Rascon, and he brings that same energy of respect and originality to his work. One of his proudest creations was not a tattoo at all, but a painting of a classic American traditional devil head executed with Japanese technique. It is that blend of cultures and techniques that keeps him pushing boundaries within the timeless framework he loves.
Outside the studio, Brian stays just as hands on. He is into skateboarding, drumming, and building tattoo machines from the ground up. He has a dry sense of humor, a deep respect for the craft, and a tight knit crew at Club Tattoo Mesa he considers more family than coworkers.
He does not chase trends, he builds legacies. If you are looking for a tattoo that feels grounded, classic, and unapologetically bold, Brian is the artist who will deliver it with a sharp needle and sharper vision.
