Leon

Leon’s interest in tattooing started early — long before he ever picked up a machine. As a kid, he’d tag along when his brother got tattooed, quietly absorbing the process, the art, and the atmosphere. That spark eventually led him to begin a traditional apprenticeship in his hometown in China, where he trained under a dedicated master and began honing his craft. Now, with 16 years of experience, Leon’s work blends timeless technique with modern finesse.

Tattooing at Club Tattoo in Tempe, AZ, Leon is known for his mastery of fine line and watercolor styles, often infused with Asian traditional elements that honor his roots. His favorite designs incorporate flow, balance, and precise placement — each tattoo tailored not just to the skin, but to the client’s movement, energy, and intention.

Leon draws inspiration from his mentor and legendary artists like Shige, and his style reflects years of study, discipline, and cultural heritage. His tattoos are intricate but intentional, with clean linework, soft shading, and detailed accents that give every piece depth and meaning.

One of his proudest projects? A full back piece, executed with technical precision and patience — a perfect showcase of the flow and form that define his work.

Leon has been part of the Club Tattoo Tempe family for over 7 years, and says what he loves most is the team’s support and camaraderie. It’s a studio that feels like home — and it shows in how he approaches every client, every design, every session.

Outside the studio, Leon keeps his creative energy alive through painting — and when he’s not creating art, you’ll likely find him fishing, a hobby that mirrors his calm, focused approach to tattooing. And for the record? Yes, he really loves fishing.
