His philosophy is rooted in a modern contemporary vision; he expertly utilizes the natural flow and curves of the body to shape large-scale concepts that are big, bold, and striking from a distance. Whether he is recreating the vibrant energy of a comic book or the delicate intricacy of a botanical garden, his work is defined by artistic integrity and precision.

James draws his inspiration from the raw beauty of nature, the animal kingdom, and the strength of family. A dedicated student of the craft, he is heavily influenced by industry legends like Filip Leu and Jeff Gogue, while recently finding new depth in the study of the Old Masters. For James, a tattoo is not just ink—it is a permanent chronicle of a journey and a premium investment in self-expression.

When he isn't at the studio elevating the industry standard, James finds balance in the patient arts of gardening, painting, and keeping koi fish. A man of many talents, he is also an accomplished baker—proving that whether he’s working with ink or flour, he is committed to the highest level of craftsmanship.
